Excel in Motion

Excel in Motion has been working diligently to implement safety protocols for our 2021 convention tour. Please know that the safety of our attendees is our utmost concern as we move forward with this season. We will continue to monitor each state’s policies and make updates as necessary. We are working closely with our venues to make sure all their safety measures are included as well. Please note that we understand this season will look differently than the past, but Excel in Motion hopes to still provide a fun and educational dance experience while keeping our dancers, families, and staff safe. We thank you for your continued patience and understanding!


  • REGISTRATION is limited and is on a first come first serve basis. All registration must be completed 14 days prior to the event date. Registration on location is not guaranteed.
  • COVID-19 WAIVERS are to be signed by all attendees as part of the registration process.
  • PLEASE STAY HOME if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms.
  • MASKS ARE REQUIRED in all public areas, convention areas & classrooms.
  • HAND SANITIZER STATIONS will be provided throughout the event.
  • HIGH USE AREAS will be consistently sanitized throughout the event.
  • EXCEL MERCHANDISE is not permitted to be tried on at this time.
  • REFUNDS – Once registered, NO REFUNDS will be authorized, unless event is canceled due to COVID-19.
  • THE EXHIBITION SHOW will not take place this season. Opening and closing ceremonies will still be held.


  • LIMITED CAPACITY in all of our ballrooms. Class size varies by location and can change to follow updated state guidelines.
  • SCHEDULE may begin and end in each classroom on different schedules to avoid gatherings.
  • DANCE SPACE in ballrooms will be divided to indicate 6 foot socially distanced areas.
  • DANCE FLOORS will not be installed to help maintain distance.
  • WATER STATIONS IN BALLROOMS will not be provided, please come prepared with your own water supply.
  • OBSERVERS will be limited for each level. This varies by location and will follow state guidelines. Detailed information will be provided for each individual event as we get closer.
  • FACULTY AUTOGRAPHS AND PHOTOS will not be possible this season due to social distancing.


  • SCHEDULE lineup will either be in studio block form, or in small groups of multiple studios at a time depending on the location and studio sizing.
  • DRESSING ROOMS will be a shared room (2-3 studios) or as an individual room based on space available.
  • LIVE STREAM of the performances will be free for guests to watch who are unable to be present.
  • AUDIENCE SEATING will be both limited and distanced for competition spectators. Availability will be on a first come first serve basis and varies by location.
  • MUSIC must be uploaded 10 days beforehand via our registration site.
  • MASKS will be required for all performers on stage and in the backstage/dressing room areas. ** Soloists may not be required to wear a mask while performing on stage depending on location.
  • AWARDS will be announced on stage after each session for adjudication only. Overalls will be livestreamed at the end of the entire event.
  • TEEN & SENIOR SOLOISTS do not need to be in a group number to qualify for Elite Dancer during the 2021 season. All other qualification requirements still apply.

*****For the Safety of All Attendees, Excel in Motion reserves the right to refuse entry or remove a guest who is NOT adhering to the safety measures including but not limited to wearing a mask, and/or social distancing. Any guest exhibiting a temperature, and/or flu-like symptoms will need to immediately leave the event and alert us of those they have come in contact with during the event so we can take appropriate action.
